Do you see the teensy tiny Washington Monument at the bottom? Those explosions were ginormous. Put a pilgrimage to see the 4th of July fireworks in the Capitol on your bucket list.
The next day we got to spend some quality time with a totally funny (and furry) lady.
And watch the Nationals secure a come-from-behind win in the bottom of the ninth. It was throw back night or something like that. All the players and team staff were in 1920s garbs. Even the on-field reporter had on an old school hat and bow tie. The scoreboard was in black and white all night. Completely adorable.
Then the rest of our time we hung out here, which was actually the purpose of our trip. A piece of paradise. There were even bunnies and chipmunks frolicking around. It was H-O-T but the pool was refreshing and company was
Of course I came back with a nasty head cold (even with the 100+ degree weather...) and spent the last three days mainly on the couch eating soup and watching the entire 5th season of Lost. (Oh. My. Crap.) There's nothing to help you get over what ails you like soup and hating on Benjamin Linus.
